How to Care for Clothes?

Kıyafet Bakım Nasıl Yapılır?

Everyone has a special place in their closet, perhaps their favorite fabric pants or satin dress model. But over time, these clothes start to wear out, wear out their knees or break their zippers. So, do you want to preserve your favorite pieces for many years? Then don't miss the 15 tips we offer in this article!

  1. Read Care Labels Carefully:

Each garment has its own washing and drying instructions. These instructions are determined by the fabric type and color of your garment. If you start washing without reading the care label, the color of your garment may fade, shrink or deteriorate.

  1. Classify your laundry:

Definitely wash your colored and white clothes separately. Use cold water and a delicate detergent for colored clothes. You can also prevent delicate fabrics (silk, wool) from wearing out by washing them separately from other fabrics.

  1. Do Not Overfill the Machine:

If the washing machine is overfilled, your clothes will not be fully cleaned and may rub against each other and wear out. Be careful not to fill the machine to more than 75% of its capacity.

  1. Use the Right Amount of Detergent:

Using too much detergent can cause your clothes to harden and fade their colors. You can help both the environment and your clothes by using the amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer.

  1. Wash at Low Temperature:

High temperatures can cause some fabrics to shrink and wear out. If possible, wash your clothes in 30°C or cold water. This is especially important for delicate fabrics.

  1. Close Buttons and Zippers:

Before washing, button all buttons and close zippers to prevent them from getting caught on other clothes and tearing.

  1. Turn the Clothes Inside Out:

Wash your dark colored or printed clothes inside out. This method prevents colors from fading and prints from deteriorating.

  1. Use Mesh Bags for Delicate Garments:

Use a mesh bag to wash your bras, underwear and light fabrics. This will protect them from damage that may occur during the spin cycle of the washing machine.

  1. Air Dry If Possible:

Using a dryer can cause your clothes to shrink and wear out. Dry your clothes outdoors as much as possible. Prefer drying in the shade to avoid direct sunlight.

  1. Use Quality Hangers:

Use wooden or wide plastic hangers instead of wire hangers to help your clothes retain their shape and prevent them from sagging.

  1. Do Minor Repairs Yourself:

If your clothes have small holes or tears, you can repair them yourself. You can make simple repairs using needle and thread and extend the life of your clothes.
